Just about one month ago the 5th annual Savour food and wine Show blew into town to great acclaim.

The Savour show is presented by RANL and is a fun way to highlight the great restaurants we have in our province.

This year Savour enjoyed record ticket sales and attendance and was made possible by the generous sponsorship of the NLC, Dept. TCR, The Telegram, VOCM, The Delta and ACOA.

RANL also uses the Savour show to give back to the community. A donation is made every year to the Community Food Sharing Association.

RANL President Andrea Maunder (left) and RANL Treasurer Bob Moakler (right) present a cheque to Eg Walters (centre) of the Community Food Sharing Assocation at the 5th annual Savour food and wine Show.

RANL also uses the Savour show as a venue to present two scholarships each year that is funded by Industry Patron Sponsors. The generous support of many of our industry’s suppliers makes it possible for RANL to offer a $1000 scholarship to a cooking student and a service/management student.

Ryan Heath, CNA cooking student, accepts his scholarship cheque from Andrea Maunder and Bob Moakler of RANL.

If you are checking out edining.ca right now, you may know who we are at RANL, but if you do not…. please let me introduce us!

The Restaurant Association of Newfoundland Labrador is a small but growing, not-for-profit industry association that works tirelessly to help our local restaurant industry grow and thrive and works with government departments and other like-minded agencies, to move Newfoundland ingredients and cuisine onto the international stage.

Now you know who we are and what we do!

We want to welcome you to our culinary world. Come in and make yourself at home and I hope when you visit us again and again you will find great information, have some fun and get out there and visit the chefs and restaurateurs who make all of it possible.

To get us started, here are a couple of links that may satisfy all of the above: Seal meals that make the cut and local food blogger reviews.
